The un department of economic and social affairs (desa) published a 2024 revision of ‘world population prospects,’ which presents the latest global population estimates and projections. Wpp 2024 shows that in 48 countries and areas, which include around a tenth of the world’s population, populations are projected to peak between 2025 and 2054.
